Participation of UFU Representatives in Ukrainian Actions During the 1972 Olympic Games

The article analyses the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian Free University in Ukrainian events during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich (Germany). It is established that representatives of the Ukrainian Free University joined various actions of the Ukrainian diaspora to protest against the subjugation of Ukraine by the Soviet Union. It is found that representatives of the Ukrainian Free University were active in the press conference organized by the Ukrainian Olympic Committee in exile. The participation of Ukrainian Free University representatives in Ukrainian actions during the Olympic Games in Munich is logical, because the University had authority not only among the Ukrainian community, but also throughout Germany and in other countries of the world. Therefore, the "voice" of Ukrainian Free University representatives attracted the Ukrainian community in Germany and authoritative political and public figures in Germany to the actions. This increased the significance of the Ukrainian demonstrations in Munich.
